Free to be Famous is a joint effort of Academy of Art University, created to encourage and foster interest in dramatic arts among young people in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Aspiring young actors are encouraged to upload a video of themselves performing a brief scene. Expert judges, including faculty from Academy of Art University, will score each entry. Those scores, combined with voting results from the public, will determine the three finalists.

Academy of Art University will then provide each finalist with their own team of student/faculty experts to coach and give advice on areas such as acting, make up and wardrobe. The Academy of Art University team will also coach the finalists as they videotape a new audition that will be scored in the final round of competition.

Ultimately, one grand prize winner will receive the opportunity to experience a walk-on role on the set of a network program. For more detailed information, review our Competition Rules & Regulations.
